Carlo Gavazzi EM21 - Quick Guide

To follow this guide you will need:

  • 1 x DEXGate
  • 1 x EM21
  • 1 x USB-RS485 addapter
  • 1 x Computer
  • 1 x Ethernet Cable

Installation:

  1. Install the current transformers following the following diagram:

  2. Connect the orange usb cable to the connector 15, the yellow cable to the connector 14 and the black cable to the connector 13:

  3. Power up the meter.
  4. Access the setup menu and configure the ModBus address.
  5. Configure the current transformers factor.
  6. Reset meter values.
  7. Power up the DEXGate.
  8. Connect the USB-RS485 cable to the DEXGate.
  9. Connect the Ethernet cable to your computer and the ETH1 port of the DEXGate.
  10. Access the web administration interface of the DEXGate (http://172.16.0.1).
  11. Login (the default username and password are admin/admin).
  12. Go to the "Bridge Configuration" section.
  13. Edit the line:
    devices.carlogavazzi-em21=
    to look like this:
    devices.carlogavazzi-em21=10
    where "10" indicates ModBus meter adress
  14. Save.
  15. Restart the modbus bridge or the DEXGate.
  16. You're done!

Carlo Gavazzi EM210 - Quick Start Guide

To follow this guide you will need:

  • 1 x DEXGate2
  • 1 x EM210
  • 1 x Computer or Mobile Phone with Wifi

Installation:

  1. Install the current transformers following the following diagram:

  1. Connect the 16th terminal of the EM210 to the A(+) terminal in DEXGate2, the 15th terminal of the EM210 to the B(-) terminal in DEXGate2 and the 17th terminal of the EM210 to the S terminal in DEXGate2.
  2. Power up the meter.
  3. Access the setup menu and configure the ModBus address.
  4. Configure the current transformers factor.
  5. Reset meter values.
  6. Power up the DEXGate2.
  7. Access the web administration interface of the DEXGate2 by connecting to its wifi access point and then enter (http://172.16.0.1).
  8. Login (the default username and password are admin/admin).
  9. Go to the "Modbus Configuration" section.
  10. Edit the line:
    devices.carlogavazzi-em210=
    to look like this:
    devices.carlogavazzi-em210=10
    where "10" indicates ModBus meter adress
  11. Save & restart the modbus bridge or the DEXGate2.
  12. You're done!
