Start working with DEXMA Automated Provisioning in 15min

Welcome to DEXMA!

Here you will learn how to create and set up your first account. Moreover, we will provide you with extra material for doing a workshop, in which you will be able to test the software in no more than 10 minutes.

Before starting, we would like to mention that in case you have any doubts after this tutorial or at any point while using DEXMA, do not hesitate to contact us by sending an email to support@dexma.com. We will be delighted to answer your questions! :)

Create an account

The first thing you must do when you get into DEXMA for the first time is creating an account. Let's say you want a Professional account with 50 DPs (Datapoints). You will have to follow the next steps in order to create it.

1. Once you get into our platform with your SuperAdmin user, you will see something like the next picture, where you must go to Account management.

2. Once done that, you will see the next screen divided into 3. Here, when you have more accounts, you will see the Active accounts that you have and the Expired ones. Click on Create a new account.

3. Doing this you will be redirected to the next screen, where you must fill the blanks to configure the account as you desire.

  • You should write a distinctive Account name, so you can find it easy in the platform.
  • As for the license, you must choose the privileges your customer is going to have (in this case Professional DP).
  • Since we want to have 50 DPs, you must write 30 DPs (in addition to the 20 of the account) in the blank left in DPs Professional.

You should then accept the conditions and the account will be created. Now you can start setting it!

Set up an account - Where to start?

If this is your first time in DEXMA, we would recommend you to follow the workshop that you will find below. This workshop will help you understand the flow you should follow when configuring your account in DEXMA.

Moreover, as we know that maybe you still need to prepare your gateways to start sending data, we will attach in the workshop data for eight devices and six months. This way, you will be able to test our functionalities with test data while the gateways are getting ready. Now, please click in the onboarding link that can be found below:

Once the onboarding is done, you should then finish configuring your own gateways.

In case you need help, do not hesitate to contact support@dexma.com, and we will recommend to you the best way to do so.

Moreover, we want to remind you that there are two ways of configuring an account:

  1. Manually (like the workshop you have just followed)
  2. In-bulk, recommended for those who need to configure multiple locations at once.

After this, the next steps would be:

  1.  Create Supplies and Prices
  2.   Create Dashboards and widgets

Finally, but not less important, you will be able to manage the users access to this account.

Now, if you have 5 more minutes...

After setting up your account the only thing there's left to do is to start playing! DEXMA has many options and applications with the aim of making your work easier.

The most common extra features that our customers tend to use, besides the basic set up, are the reports and alarms.

Additionally, there are some applications that we keep doing to ease the work and that you can find here.

Upgrade an account

In case you want to upgrade an account regardless of if it is the license or the number of DPs, you have to follow these steps:

To start, let's go to Account management.

There, a page like the following one will be shown, with both active and expired accounts.

Now, to upgrade either the license or the number of Mtrs/DPs, you must click on Upgrade Plan. Then, the next page will appear to expand the services of the account.

Once you have chosen the new “version" of the account (let’s say you upgrade from 50 DPs to 100 DPs), you will have to click on the button located in the bottom-right of the page and preview the invoice before it’s sent.

As it is shown in the picture above, in the preview of the invoice you will be able to see the price of upgrading 50 more DPs in your account (you will see always the total quantity of DPs that you have, not only the quantity you are upgrading) with your partner discount applied.

Once having verified the document, you will have to check the “Security responsibility check” before purchasing your request.

When you click on “Purchase”, you will be automatically provided with the services you requested for (in this case 50 more DPs) and your financial contacts will receive an invoice in their email regarding this purchase.

And just start enjoying your new services!
