How can I visualize costs?

Once you know how much you are consuming you want to get the numbers of how much it will cost. 

Visualize cost on the platform is very easy if you have configured properly the supplies and prices. In this article you are going to learn how is the platform organised and which recipe you must follow to analyse costs.


Cost settings

Configure Supplies and prices

Once you have data on the platform. The first thing you must do in order to visualize the cost is configuring Supplies and prices. Go to Settings -> Supplies and prices.  

These are the steps required:

  1. Create a price
  2. Create a supply
  3. Create an active contract

Firstly, prices must be created. Secondly, create a Supply.Once created you must create at least one active contract. In this article you can find the main information regarding the link between the different configuration steps. 


Assign Supplies to locations

This step links the information available on the settings screen with the visualization feature. This step consists of matching the supplies that you have configured with the devices on the location that they belong. 

For doing so you must Go to Settings -> Locations -> Assign Supplies and prices.

Read the article Assign supply to locations in order to learn the steps that must be followed for assigning supplies to locations. Once this action it's done you can already analyse your costs on the platform.

Note that a device can only be assigned to a Supply. You can have several supplies on a Location with the corresponding devices on it. 


Cost visualization

The platform offers different ways to visualize your costs. You can visualize through the following features on Analyse:



Get a quick glance at how much is the consumption of your installations going to cost you by creating dashboards and adding the cost widget. Learn more about how to configure dashboards and widgets.



Cost feature

This tool is one of the main screens of the platform to visualize in a detailed way the costs according to the contract previously selected. Select the device, the dates, and the frequency and analyse with the charts and tables. Learn more about the cost feature.





The platform offers basic templates to help you performing bill simulation and to warn you of the actual cost of what you are consuming. Prevent your customers periodically of how much will they have to pay. Here you have the list of the reports where you can visualize cost: 



This is the list of apps where you can use bill simulation or that help to configure and visualize costs on the platform:


  • Demand load App: Get to know the possible load excess penalties before the customer receives the real bill. This app calculates the Load Demand of the devices and it compares with the contracted load. 


  • Whole sale market App: (Spanish prices) This App allows you to import wholesale market prices into the platform based on the formula that you have contracted with your supplier. 



In order to visualize costs on the platform make sure that you have everything that you need: 

  • Having real time data monitored.
  • Having meters with data in the platform.
  • Having devices with data assigned to locations.
  • Having consumption parameters with at least the 30 min frequency or less (15 min, 5 min), if data is discrete, or having cumulated data.
