In this article you are going to learn the different options you have to configure the widgets period when creating your Dashboard, which can be scoped to a specific time frame. Time controls include a list of common time frames and a calendar picker for quick selection.
The rolling period is designed to display time-dependent data, offering the ability to select various time intervals (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly, or custom ranges) for data visualization. It provides rolling updates, continuously reflecting chosen time frames, making it ideal for monitoring evolving metrics.
The widget includes graphical elements (e.g., line, charts, graphs, tables) for visually representing data within the selected time frame and allows for customisation to adapt its appearance and displayed data to individual preferences. You can easily navigate between different time periods, facilitating data comparison and trend analysis within the dashboard.
Select the predefined periods
- Last 7 days
- Last 28 days
- Current month
- Last month
- Year to date
Select a customised period
By default, the current period will be selected, but you can unselect, if preferred. This means that if you selected for instance Year to Date period you will get the last timestamp reading of today, whereas if you unselect this option you will get the last timestamp from yesterday data.
You can also select to have the widget with the period forecasted, by selecting the option Until the end of the period.
Example: Yearly Evolution Consumption (line graph with daily resolution)
The fixed period allows you to pick the desired dates you want to visualise the data:
Let's say that you have implemented a project in a defined period of time. Eg; 6 months (not natural dates), with this feature you could always visualise the specific period and track your project date to date.
