Overview
Reports (Beta) lets you turn your Analytics insights and data into professional, repeatable reports. You build a report template once, then generate report instances for specific dates/periods, locations, and language. Reports support one-time generation and scheduled recurring delivery via automations.
Key concepts
- Report template: A reusable report layout made of widgets (charts/tables/KPIs) plus text and images.
- Report instance: A specific report with a period, language created from a template.
- Widgets: Report components that display platform data.
- Automations: Scheduled rules that generate report instances on a recurring basis.
What you can do in Beta
- Create report templates with a drag-and-drop editor.
- Add Analytics and preset data to a report as widgets.
- Add text blocks (markdown) images (via text blocks).
- Generate reports for a selected period (one-time).
- Set up recurring generation with automations (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly) and a configurable delay after a period ends.
- View a report and download it as a PDF.
Create a report template
- Open New Reports.
- Create a new template (or start from an existing one).
- Build your layout:
- Add widgets (charts/tables/KPIs) based on Analytics and presets.
- You can select the Period "By Context" when creating an Analysis, for it to adapt to the report period
- You can select the Period "By Context" when creating an Analysis, for it to adapt to the report period
- Add text blocks for narrative, images (via link) and commentary.
- The period and language selected for visualisation in the template
- Customise the header and footer in the Page setup section
- Add widgets (charts/tables/KPIs) based on Analytics and presets.
- Save your template.
Generate a one-time report instance
- Go to the Report list and click on Create a new report
- Select a template or create one from scratch
- Select:
- Period / dates (what the report covers)
- Location (site/zone)
- Language
- Choose Publish report
- You can then view the report and download PDF as needed.
Schedule recurring reports (Automations)
Automations turn a template into a recurring reporting workflow.
Configure an automation
When creating an automation, you typically define:
- Template: which template to use
- Language
- Location (sites/zones)
- Tags (optional filters when reporting at zone level)
- Timeline: start/end of the automation lifecycle
- Periodicity: daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly
- Delay: triggers generation several days after the period ends to allow late-arriving remote meter data
Publishing and access rules
Automations include publishing controls such as:
- Publish only for me (private)
- Publish for all the account (visible to all users in the account, only available for administrator users)
- Publish for me and specific users
Notes on permissions:
- Admins / Superadmins / Demo users can create automations and publish for other users.
- Manager users can create automations, but can only publish for themselves.
PDF generation and data freshness (important)
- PDFs are not stored. When you open a report instance, it loads the latest available data and the PDF is generated on demand in your browser.
- If you need stability around late data arrival, use Automation delay to generate the instance after the reporting period ends.
Current limitations in Beta
- Templates cannot be shared between accounts.
- No real-time multi-user collaboration while editing.
- No external tool integrations (including market apps).
- Email distribution is not fully available yet (see “Coming soon”).
Coming soon
- Report links via email (emails will include a link to view the report; no PDF attachment).
- Mixed bar + line charts in analyses (bars and lines for different data blocks).
- Change colours in analyses.
Legacy modules (for clarity)
- Migration from Advanced Analytics and Custom Reports will be assessed in the future.
- Deprecation of old modules is not happening yet.
FAQ / Troubleshooting
Why does the PDF look different when I download it again later?
Reports use the latest available data and PDFs are generated on demand. If underlying data changes, the output can change.
My automation ran but the numbers look incomplete.
Increase the Delay so generation happens after late meter data is expected to arrive.
Can I send the report as a PDF attachment by email?
Not in Beta. Email will send a link (coming soon), and recipients can download the PDF from the report view.
