What are Circutor Power Sudio and Circutor EDS?
Circutor Power Studio is a Software that allows a complete energy monitoring of network analysers, meters, and a complete control of different magnitudes in the field of industrial process.
Circutor EDS is a data logger with an embedded power studio. It's compatible with a huge range of Circutor devices either local or remote. It has 8 digital Inputs and 6 outputs.
Both communicate with the Platform through HTTP.
NOTE: See files attached at the end of the article for more information, or click here to learn more about Power Studio and here to learn more about EDS.
When to use Circutor Power Studio or EDS?
Power Studio
Once the user has configured the parameters needed to reach a Power Studio (URL, user, password), the platform will reach that address and recover the data from the registered devices.
If you are using a Power Studio, this is definitely your choice. However, please verify that the devices that you have in the Power Studio are integrated with the platform (see the section below).
EDS
A Power Studio might as well be represented by a Circutor EDS. In this case, the user should configure a public IP and port for the EDS in order to add it to the platform. Afterwards, the platform will access that address and recover the data from the devices.
So, when to use Circutor EDS integration?
Circutor EDS Integration is an integration directly done by Circutor. This integration will send the data from the gateways to the platform (contrarily to the Power Studio integration). It could be convenient for you to use this integration for the following cases:
- You do not have a fixed IP for your EDS and so you cannot configure the Power Studio.
- Some of your sensors are not integrated with the platform in the Power Studio integration.
How to add a Power Studio in the Platform
To start receiving data of your Power Studio you just have to follow the next steps:
1. Log into the EMS with your user and password.
2. Go to the Settings section:
3. On the left menu select Gateways and click on Register a new gateway:
4. Select the gateway Power Studio Engine:
5. Fill in the following fields:
- Name: Write a distinctive name for your Satel
- URL Power Studio: Write here the URL of your Power Studio
- User: Add the user to be able to access the Power Studio URL
- Password: Add the password to be able to access the Power Studio URL
- Time Zone: Select the time zone where your gateway is located
6. Before saving, click on Search devices and select the ones that you want. Then click on Save. Please note that the list of devices currently integrated is:
CVMK | CVMK2 | CVMB | CVM-BC | CVM 144 |
CVM 144 TCP | CVM-NRG96 | CVM-MINI | CVM-NET | CVM-NET 4-C1 |
CVM-NET 4-C2 | CVM-NET 4-C3 | CVM-NET 4-C4 | EDMK | HTPM100 |
LM50 TCP | MKD | CVM 1D | CVMC10 | GATEWAY CVMA1500 |
EDS | EDS EMBEDDED | LM4 | LM4A | LM24 |
LM25 | LM50 | LM50PLUS |
If the devices you are trying to reach through this integration are not included in the list, contact your support provider.
7. New devices should appear in the gateway, however, DEXMA pulls data every hour o'clock, so parameters (DataPoints) can take some time to appear depending on at what time you create the gateway.
8. Accept the parameters, assign the devices to locations and you are ready to use the data in DEXMA!
How to add an EDS in the Platform
To start receiving data of your EDS you just have to follow the next steps:
Circutor EDS - firmware
In order for the EDS to send data to our Platform, you will have to previously update the firmware, that the manufacturer issues specially for our Platform. You can download the files for the update on the Circutor website.
EMS
1. Log into the EMS with your user and password.
2. Go to the Settings section:
3. On the left menu select Gateways and click on Register a new gateway:
4. Select the gateway Virtual Gateway:
5. Fill in the following fields:
- Name: Write a distinctive name for your EDS
- Key: Write a key for your EDS
- Time Zone: Select the time zone where your gateway is located
6. Click on Save and, once the gateway is created, click on Edit it.
Write down the key and the token provided by the EM Platform. You will need this information to configure properly the EDS.
EDS interface
7. Log into the EDS remote page and go to the General Settings.
8. Configure here the following settings:
- Host: is3.dexcell.com
- Port: 80
- Key: Write here key from the gateway, written down in step 6
- Token: Token obtained in step 6
When defining the variables to send to the platform, if you want to send Active Energy (DEXMA 402 parameter) at EDS you have to select the AEE (Active Energy End) variable.
